This is a 1980′s John Deere 690B Excavator with a 30 digging bucket and a mechanical thumb. It has been re-plumbed for Cat controls, but it would be easy for you to switch back to Deere controls if you prefer. It is a powerful machine capable of digging big holes, pushing over trees, ripping out stumps, cutting roads, etc. We got it to cut a logging road through rocky, hilly terrain and it performed beautifully. It isn’t as fast as modern excavators, but is perfect for personal use. Less than 600 hours on new engine. Less than 100 hours on new track rollers. Less than 10 hours on new hydraulic pump. 2 hours on new starter. 2 hours on new battery. 2 hours since oil change and fuel filter change. Multiple manuals (users manual & multiple parts manuals). Tracks are tight with no sag. Starts and runs strong. Digs big holes, pushes down trees, picks up downed trees (or most anything else). Works fine on flat ground or if you are traveling straight up or down a slope, but will need work if you are working on a steep grade. One tooth on the bucket broke off (welds broke). Tooth is included and can be welded back on. Significant rust in the cab. 2 speed travel and house lock don’t currently work. Appears to be an electrical problem. Left front cover is bent.
